Day 110 … Visiting Family and a Brewery Tour

Warm showers and a great night’s rest was just what the doctor ordered! This morning, we took a dip in the jacuzzi. Although it rained for a few minutes, eventually the sun came out and clouds disappeared to reveal blue skies. Occasionally, a hummingbird or two would fly around the backyard. For breakfast, Kelly picked us some oranges from the yard for freshly squeezed orange juice, and Danielle cooked up some pancakes.

During our stay in Vegas, Matt lost his sunglasses a second time at the buffet. We called the security desk, and they informed us that they had gasses matching our description and would hold them for up to one week. Seeing as these glasses have sentimental value to Matt, the plan is to drive back to Vegas to pick them up tomorrow.

The plan for today is to head to a few of San Diego’s local breweries. It was nearly 2PM when we pulled up to the Ballast Point Brewing Company. Unfortunately, we got a sense that this place didn’t offer tours as it looked more like an office and was located in an industrial park. Instead, we got back in the car and made our way to the Stone Brewing Company. At Stone, we picked up our tickets for the 6PM tour. The tour was about 40 minutes long plus a tasting session where guests could try four of the local the Stone ales. For dinner, Janet treated us to some delicious barbeque back at her house.
