Day 13 … Fargo, ND and Jamestown, ND

This morning we woke up and found ourselves in Fargo, ND. We started the day at the Fargo-Moorhead Visitors Center where we were greeted with free coffee and popcorn. Here, we spoke with the visitor’s guide who told us about some of the local tourist spots around town. Our first stop on our tour of Fargo was the Roger Maris Museum where we watched a video about the “Legitimate Home Run King” who hit 61 home runs in 1961. Next, we were off to downtown Fargo to see the Fargo Theater. The old art-deco theater still plays movies nightly. As it was only noon time, we took the opportunity to tour the empty theater and get some pictures with the Marge Statue. After playing tourist for a bit, Matt and I stopped in at a restaurant called Bison Turf for lunch. There we shared a pitcher of beer, a sampler app, and a bison burger. The bison meat was very lean and made for a delicious burger!

As we continued the trip westward, we stopped in Jamestown, ND to see the World’s Largest Buffalo Statue and try to see the infamous White Buffalo. Although there were no buffalo in sight when we arrived, we were able to find the heard after speaking with the local groundsman and taking a closed road to the backside of the field.
