Day 9 … Rainy Day

The forecast for today called for rain, and boy did it rain. We did our best to not let this get in our way.  After stopping at the local visitors center, we went to visit the Log Slide. The Log Slide is the sight of a steep sandy dune where loggers would slide logs down to Lake Superior. The guide at the visitor’s center suggested we take Adam’s Trail, a shortcut towards Munising. The added rain made the drive a little treacherous, but Matt did what he could to keep the tires from spinning in the mud. After the 12 mile ride on Adam’s Trail, we were nearly out of gas.  We filled the tank in Christmas.  This holiday themed town was not without its decorations there was a giant Santa cut-out, a sleigh with presents at the gas station, and even the casino has Christmas themed carpet and lights decorating the ceiling. We spent the night in the parking lot of the casino before heading to the Pictured Rocks in the morning.

The drop off at the Log Slide was crazy steep and the colors were beautiful considering it was raining.
