Day 7 … The Chautaugua Wine Trail and Michigan

This morning we came across Lake Erie State Park. Here we were able to get a few showers, go for a nature walk, and check out the lake. As we continued the trip, we detoured along the Chautaugua Wine Trail which stretches from New York into Pennsylvania. The sights were beautiful! We drove by acres of farms filled with grape vines as far as we could see. Just after we crossed the border into Pennsylvania, we came upon the Mazza Winery.  Here, we toured the winery and learned that this year the harvest began three weeks early with all the great  weather we had this summer.  After a few samples of the local wine, we were off to Michigan via Ohio. On our way through Cleveland, we stopped and took a walk by the Rock ‘n’ Roll Hall of Fame, and we also checked out the World’s Largest Stamp. Finally, We made our way north through the lower peninsula of Michigan and spent the night just outside of Detroit, MI
